Where Did We Stay: Mitsis Royal Mare

The resort feels like its own little village, with palm-lined paths, flowering gardens, and little bungalows dotted around the grounds. We had a room with access to a shared pool, which was such a luxury, it meant morning dips were just a few steps from our door.
The beach is just at the edge of the resort, with clear, calm waters and comfy loungers where we spent lazy afternoons. The food was a real highlight—there are so many restaurants to choose from, and everything felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Our favourite was the beachfront taverna where we could sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.

Our hotel room had direct access to a tranquil pool shared by just a few rooms, parents can enjoy peaceful sunbathing on the private terrace while little ones paddle nearby, all just steps from your suite.

What we loved most was how peaceful it felt—even though the resort is popular, the beach never felt overcrowded. The sea stays shallow quite far out, which is ideal for families, and there are a few smooth pebbles near the shore, but overall it’s great for paddling and floating for hours.
There’s also a beachfront restaurant and bar just a few steps away, so we could easily grab a coffee in the morning or a cold drink in the afternoon without leaving our sun loungers.
